Geom. Giuseppe Zambon – Technical specialist at the CNR – Institute of Marine Sciences in Venice. He has always worked with high-precision leveling as the Construction Manager (Regione del Veneto) or executing it in person in various contexts and finalized towards studies on transcurrent areas (Fella-Gai) subject to earthquakes (Gemona del Friuli) and technically unstable (Prato Carnico).
He primarily dedicated his work to measuring, testing and studying the Venetian context to follow and document the effects of subsidence on the historic City Centre, the lagoon and its beaches. He was thus able to create an historic archive of 43 different levelings that began with the first surveys that came to Venice in 1883 to end, currently, with the most recent done by AGIP in 2009; at the same time he did not neglect the analyses on the first local altimetric references that were based on the classic “Marine Common”.
His experience has led him to collaborate with the Regione del Veneto – Mapping Department, the Istituzione Centro Previsioni Segnalazioni Maree of the City of Venice, Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale di Venezia, the Università di Udine – Department of Georesources and Geography, the Istituto Geografico Militare in Florence and with Insula S.p.A. in Venice.
